The Oregon Debate Education Foundation is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization created by two college students. Hank Fields and Rachel Mosley are passionate about forensics and have debated since high school. They envision ODEF to be a strong, successful organization that seeks to promote policy debate programs in Oregon high schools.

The  overall goal is to promote opportunities in debate education for students no matter their background, educational environment, or experience. Debate is a unique activity that lets students express themselves creatively, learn research skills, and explore their own education. Every student that never gets to experience competitive debate may be missing the educational opportunity of a lifetime.

What does ODEF do?

We train judges, coaches, and students. ODEF holds free introductory and advanced workshops for anybody interested in coaching and participating in debate. Contact us to find out if we can set up a workshop at your school or if we’re already holding one in your area.

We designed ODEF to be a comprehensive resource for making access to debate a reality for all interested students. We seek to equalize debate opportunities by providing a path to forming your school’s team.

Are you interested in promoting/competing in policy debate in Oregon? We need your help. Start learning, coaching, and giving back today.
