Whether you’re addicted to debate already, new to debate but near graduation, or are interested in college scholarships, college debate is for you. Hundreds of colleges compete in different  forms of intercollegiate debate. Doing some initial research can help you fit debate into your college plans – or college into your debate plans.

Start your research with the List of College Programs published by The Council of Forensic Organizations. It lists schools’ memberships in debate organizations, which shows the type of debate a school competes in, and some schools’ websites.

West Coast Publishing maintains lists of College Policy Programs and College Parli Programs which include scholarship, contact, and website information. Finally, WC Publishing has this list of High School and College Organizations which shows different debate formats and leagues schools can compete in.

Some schools’ information will inevitably be out of date, of course, and memberships shift constantly, so before you make a decision based on this information alone, contact the program’s coach with questions. Some schools may have new or continuing programs that aren’t listed as well.
